Michael Billington, The Guardian’s longest serving theatre critic, has praised a scheme designed to support emerging young writers. The longest serving theatre critic in Britain has praised a scheme that aims to support young, emerging writers. Young Critics run workshops by journalists and leading critics to help mentor up and coming writers.

Guardian critic Michael Billington, who has been in the business for over 40 years, ran the most recent workshop. He said: “I had a very good time at the Young Critics workshop in Winchester. More important, however, was the palpable commitment and hunger to learn of those who attended.
